Constructed for the Berkeley County School District, the Hanahan Middle School project replaced much of the aging campus with a new 86,000-square-foot, two-story academic building while preserving and renovating the school’s newer facilities. Rather than replacing the entire campus, the project modernized the school by combining new construction with targeted renovations. The completed project accommodates growing student enrollment while improving the overall functionality of the campus.

The project includes new academic classrooms, a competition gymnasium, supporting instructional spaces, and extensive site improvements, including new utilities, parking, sidewalks, landscaping, and stormwater infrastructure. Early coordination with Dominion Energy allowed the campus electrical service to be relocated before construction began, eliminating the need for temporary power and helping keep the project on schedule.
