We served as the Prime General Contractor for this 152,000 SF CMR replacement facility for the Existing Whittemore Park Middle School for the Horry County School District. This school has capacity to serve approximately 1,200 students. It features 12 science labs, a 400-seat Auditorium, Theater spaces, a Gymnasium, an Orchestra/ Band, a Kitchen/Dining, outdoor basketball courts, and a Football/Soccer field. The entrance to WPMS includes a roundabout, which will also have dedicated lanes separate from the circle that will keep it open to traffic during pickup and drop-off times. The buses remain on a separate traffic loop.

The construction includes:

• A combination of masonry materials, including brick, block, smooth-faced block, and Nichiha siding, were used on the exterior of the building.
• Light gauge truss metal roof system and steel joist and low sloped, built-up roofing systems.
• Advanced security measures, including access controls, cameras, and safety glass.
• Interior finishes, including vinyl and carpet flooring, custom casework in administrative areas, Library, and Science classrooms.
• Off-site road improvements in the SCDOT right-of-way include turn lanes, traffic signals, water, sewer, and gas line extensions.
